Drewry’s World Container Index rose 3% in the week to 15 October to US$4,485 per 40ft container, driven by higher Asia–Europe rates. Shanghai–Rotterdam rose 6% to US$3,522 and Shanghai–Los Angeles 3% to US$7,884, while Shanghai–New York eased 1% to US$10,075. Drewry expects rates to remain stable in the coming week.
